2014 Corvette was tested at what...12.1 or 12.2 in the 1/4 mile? I'd be shocked if the GT was the same weight as the Corvette. So I'd guess a 3,3xxlb Mustang to be 12.5 at least if not slightly better and yes that is pretty damn close, but again I highly doubt the V8 equipped Mustang will be as light as the Corvette. I'd guess it will be at least 75 to 100 lbs heavier or more (puts the GT at mid 3,3xx range) and many models will probably have higher gearing for maximum mileage.

When it comes to the track, the Corvette, with its tunable suspension will be quicker. Not to mention the Covette also has a nice upscale interior and lots of very cool dash displays and gadgets.

Now if Ford really does want the Mustang to compete with Corvette and Camaro they are going to have to have these expensive options for the Mustang available. So in the end, if you want a Mustang that has the best interior quality, the cool displays, the best engine, and the track specific handling....you ain't getting that for half the cost of a Corvette.
What options do you speak of that it would need to make the interior better? You realize the base Vette isn't nearly as nice as upper trim Vettes ie has a vinyl dash cover instead of leather, different less bolstered seats, and so forth. The base Vette has a nice interior, but it is not some Mercedes S-Class place to be. Mustang GT already offers updated guage clusters with performance info etc,m already has Nav, bluetooth, power seats, heated seats, available Recaro Seats, etc, etc. They will certainly offer different suspension packages as they do now. I am confused and trying to figure out what a 3300 pound Mustang GT would really be lacking as like most cars, alot of the luxury options are still that, options.......
