The point is that no one is buying the vita due to the lack of games. If they start bundling it at a loss, it gets in the hands of players and then devs will make games for it. They took HUGE losses on the PS3, and they thankfully won't be taking that on the PS4. Hopefully they'll have some wiggle room when it comes to Vita.

Handhelds aren't doing well in America at all, not even Nintendo's DS and look at all the games out for it. However in Japan and in Europe, handhelds are doing great, the Vita is one of the top selling systems in Japan. Remember, gaming is a global market and you can't just make a blanket statement because what is true here isn't true everywhere else.
