Looking at the numbers, which I got from various sources on the web...
The GT is slower than the C6 (ZR1) in both the 1/4 mile AND on a road course...so YES, I am saying it's slower than the fastest Corvette (ZR1) that's out right now (and came out shortly after the GT came out (2008 & ran a 7:29 Nurburgring, which was faster than the GT). Kind of like how the recent Shelby GT500 was a response to the ZL1...
If you can show me numbers that show the GT is faster than the C6 ZR1 which was a response to the GT, please do...or you can go look at the Nurburgring numbers and 1/4 mile times for yourself.
As far as the reason for the cost...it's a rare car (~3400 produced), unlike the ZR1 which is still in production...so I'd take that with a grain of salt.
