I just bought my wife a Limited Crosstrek about 4 months ago and we LOVE it! This is actually the second AWD CVT vehicle we've owned (Nissan Murano the other). I really like driving the experience of a CVT. They are smooth, linear and like the OP said an engine feels more powerful than it really is in front of a CVT. My wife is currently averaging 28 mpg in town with hers.
