I must admit that the ZL1 is an interesting choice for "cruising" with small kids. I have made a lot of upgrades to mine but it is the fastest car I have ever owned, and I have had 3 supercharged cars, one turbocharged car, and many sporty naturally aspirated models.
I constantly encourage the rowdy's to bring their car to a racetrack. Some people only drive on the street and they want to race on the street. You can only control you and in every situation you have to make a decision. You are responsible for the safety of your vehicle and its passengers. If it is not safe for you then don't do it and don't worry about it. And just because I don't feel safe, I try not to judge the ability of other drivers. If you have lapped road courses you have seen that there is a huge amount of skill required to run consistent and fast laps, especially when other cars are right next to you. Hooligan driving requires a fair amount of skill and I know there are many people that are better at it than I am. If I feel the situation is safe for me, I may show them what my car has and if not, it is okay. It will still be a beautiful day if some Mustang roars past me and I watch him go.
