I just spent the last two afternoons cataloguing 143 watches for a nurse I met while in the hospital last November. She happened to mention to me one day about the watches and I told her I collected watches and I would really like to see them. She finally called me on Thursday to see if I was still interested. Kia yeah!
These watches were in bags, margerine containers and plastic bags. There were Breitling, Gruen, Rolex, Rolex Tudor, Bulova, Mido, Croton, Universal and Omegas to name a few. I was like a kid in a candy store. Apparently he also had 42 guitars that he collected but I haven't seen them yet. We have to determine the price of the watches for the estate, she has 3 other siblings that she is accountable to. I have already indicated to her which watches I am interested in. There were solid gold, rolled gold, gold plate and stainless steel watches.
She told me someone gave her father $10,000 for a group of watches before he died. I would have loved to have seen them. I can't wait. There is probably roughly the same amount of pocket watches that we haven't gone through yet. I don't know too much about those but I am willing to learn.
