I'm a fellow rider and had a head-on collision with an on coming car many years ago, I didn't have health insurance at the time and I appreciated the money that was raised. It wasn't much but that wasn't the point, it's the thoughtfulness of the people that cared. Helicopter flights, hospitals, surgeries, doctors bills, physical therapy, and after care for years down the road aren't cheap.
I was f'ed up good from the accident and didn't ride for 6 years after the accident, not because of being scared but because of finances. The memories of the accident and physical injuries will never go away, I deal with them everyday and think about the accident every time I ride. It's a constant reminder to anyone who has been in any sort of tragic accident and lucky enough to survive.
To the haters and cagers that just don't understand motorcyclists / riders, keep your opinions to yourself, no one else wants to hear it.....
