Because the new midsize trucks won't be that small. Mark Reuss spoke about them a few months ago and he was talking 90% the size of a K2XX Silverado.
In the sense that they'll be for those who want an alternative to a full size with better FE and have no need for the payload/towing capacity of the full sizes, then yes, they're similar to the GMT-325s in that regard. But if you're wanting a compact truck like the 325s, these aren't it. They're still going to be pretty big.
