Maybe the police on here could give me a possible explanation why I see cops doing this all the time. Is there ever a reason to speed that excessively without your lights on? And I thought it was illegal for them to speed without their lights on??

How about responding to a "silent/panic" alarm at your residence? Or to a "hold up" alarm at a business? We do not use lights and sirens for that. We dont want the criminals to know we are coming. Half the calls I get are these types of calls.
