Well from and actual pre 2009 Dodge truck(s) owner I can say that they are not junk as some here have stated.
My 2004 1500 I got new was a wonderful truck. Never had any issues and did great in the snow and ice. I got Rid of it because it was the 4.7 and I needed more power for pulling my trailer. The biggest complaint I had of it though is that it got horrible fuel mileage. 13mpg average and dropped to 8 pulling my trailer. I have a 06 2500 with the Cummins now and its an absolute tank.
Of course I would expect the newer ones to be nicer and better as they should.
