With the mold you mention and dampness of the seat I bet there is a lot of hidden damage.

Guy I knew on the Fire Dept 25 years ago was restoring a barn find 70 Monte Carlo back when I worked there.
He just posted pictures of it on Facebook. It came out of the paint shop last week.
