I understand what you're saying, but also remember that fuel economy is a huge factor for fleets. The less gasoline you're pouring into your vehicles, the less money is being eaten out of your income obviously.

Looking at Transit Connect, they have a 27 MPG rating, which leads me to believe that the awkward shape of these compact cargo vans is causing an aerodynamics issue negatively affecting fuel economy. With that being said, those two extra MPGs with the Ford quickly adds up in a fleet of vans, and that might be a crippling factor for this vehicle.

When all is said and done, Nissan will probably sell a crapload of these as City Expresses and less as NV200s simply because Nissan is virtually nonexistent in the North American commercial world, while Chevrolet dominates a good segment of the utility van market. That being said, if I were in charge of things, I would've engineered a ground-up van from the upcoming D2XX platform for Cruze/Equinox and put heavy emphasis on balancing capability and fuel economy.
