My Trans Am has a VIN on the dash, bottom of the windshield. It also has a cowl tag with a partial vin on the cowl.

My dad's corvette has a Vin on the on the pillar, and a tag in the door jam too.
In reality it doesn't really matter if you don't have a cowl tag. Sure, it isn't going to be worth as much, but it's not really considered crucial. What you need is the whole vin in it's factory location.
Yes. This is the car he wants.

It's not really a bare bone project car. It runs, it looks good, it just needs some work.

I'm going to call the DMV tomorrow and see what our options are. I'm hoping up flying is correct about his info.

The car does not have a vin on the dash or windshield. It had one on the left door hinge pillar, but it was removed during a paint job.
