And I'm not sure Ford said they went 200+; I think they actually said the car was capable of 200 MPH. Either way, the reason why a lot of posters are denying the Ford claim until it happens is because that was exactly what the Ford fans said about the ZL1 in the quarter (that it couldn't possibly run 11's in the quarter because no one had done it yet). So it's mostly pay back.

There was a lot of back and forth between the ZL1 and GT500. To poke some fun, a lot of members here said the ZL1 would be faster down the 1/4 mile Stock. GT500 is quite a bit faster.
ZL1 did have video proof of the 7:42 ring time, but, there were a couple of things that did put up red flags. I.E. roll cage, the tires, etc.
GT500 did manage high 190's in IIRC, Arizona heat when they attempted this. I personally think the car can do it. Just needs to be a cool day, not hot and humid.
