Ask yourself another question, why have the side marker lights on a car with wrap-arounds? That proves these ugly lights were an afterthought. On any one of dozens of cars with wrap-arounds not one I've seen have side marker lights.

I agree with the side marker lights as they make it a little too busy in that area, but I'm sure they left it in there because it's already built in to the cost of the vehicle. But I have to disagree with the appearance to the taillights because I think they look fantastic when you think outside the box as to the original 5th Gen. This car is a tribute to the first gen Z/28 and those taillights were inspired by the taillights from the '69 and these look a lot better than the originals. I don't get the wraparound part, but on the whole it still looks great.
