Besides the styling, what is different between the Terrain and Equinox? Same engines, components, purpose, market, and price. They compete directly against each other.

Camaro and G8 = good platform sharing (sedan vs coupe, completely different engines and suspensions.)

Lexus ES and Camry = weakly platform sharing (at least they are different market segments)

G5 and Cobalt; Terrain and Equinox; DTS and Lucern; XTS and Regal; Firebird and Camaro; Tahoe/Suburban and Yukon; Colorado and Canyon; Enclave, Traverse, Acadia, and Outlook for the love of god = criminal rebadging.

Assigning G8 to a new brand when its old brand is phased out = neither rebadging nor platform sharing. Henderson is an idiot/tool.
