I'm a full time student/nanny...so if a nanny can work on a car, so can you
But in all seriousness, I never worked on my cars either. I have had experience in working with bikes since I was 12, but cars where and still are something that are pretty new to me, and so far I have installed all my mods myself. It just takes practice and patience, and it is a ton of fun
