small shot and into the 10s what more do you want?
10 second quarters used to be the domain of purpose built race cars or super high budget street cars that were gutted.
now we can have that for under 10k more than factory with a full interior running the stereo and the air conditioning.
if that's not cheap horsepower I dunno what is..
people seem to forget how expensive it was to build a 11 second or 10 second car before all this modern technology.
I remember spending 1000s and 1000s on my fox body 5.0s trying to get them into the 11s in street driven configs.
the only way to do it was to stroke to 347 TFS TW heads, radical cam, after market fully ported intake and then just then you might be at 11.99

Well, in my day we could buy a car for around 1,200, build a junk yard big block, junk yard dana rearend and transmission and easily run in the 12's for way less then the base price of 30 grand just to get you started. Besides we're not talking about aftermarket HP. The thread is about a factory made drag car for the street and that wouldn't be cheap if you are expecting to be faster than the ZL1. I assumed that because if the OP didn't intend for that then why not just buy a ZL1 which is already available.
I really don't know what else GM can do to make people happy. They offer a Camaro for every price point and performance need one could ask for in a factory street legal car.
If you think that they can build a 10 or 11 second car for the street and sell it for the price of a V6 Camaro I think you and a lot of other people on this forum are smoking something that I would like try. Do you have any?
