Well, the issue is that the 3000GT hasn't been around for quite a while now. So, you are fighting age as parts go bad. So, while it might be cheaper, you will be paying in repairs down the road to keep it running.
I personally love 3000GTs, but I dont' know if I'd trade to something that old
