Couple things I REALLY wanted to see from this article that are missing:
- Outputs for the 4.3 V6.
- The weight of the trucks....hopefully they have lost a decent amount of weight.

You can thank at least part of that to direct injection. The Torque curve on even the Camaro DI V6 is very flat from around 2,000 rpm to 5,5000

Yep...that 8 speed should net another mpg or two for sure on the highway. As for the 4.3, I would expect over 300TQ for sure, but as for HP I'm not sure there. I'm guessing 270 - 300 or so. I suspect it will make more TQ than HP, unlike the LFX 3.6 which is a much different design and more of a revver.

I think it will be a fine engine and work great as the base. It would be enough power for me since I don't haul much......especially in the Colorado if they put it in that truck.
