they been saying gas will hit 5.00 a gallon every year for the past 4 years, and it hasnt happened (well except for california lol)

however, its never risen this fast.. in winter time. Less drivers, oil prices somewhat steady (been sub 100$ barrel for 6 months+ straight now), easier refining process for winter blends.

The reports say its because alot of refineries are 'upgrading' their equipment to refine the oil shale crude, and production has been down across the board, hence the gas spikes. They have planned this for a few years now (im designing a few myself) and they did it at the right time for the upgrades. If they were to do it in the summer time, hello 10$ a gallon lol
