I think the whole point is that regardless of the increased cost the reality is the consumer will be making
fewer trips to the pump for refills, even if they're still running on gasoline. If alternatives like cellulosic ethanol and diesel really take off then the cost of fueling or how often people will have to gas up will become almost a non-issue.
