It's not how they see it as a reliability issue its how the owners report it. To one person a knob that comes off the radio is not a reliability issue, but for the next owner they may consider it an issue. I know some Toyota owners that overlook the some issues they have had with their car while saying another brand is junk for having the same issue. I have had Toyota rental cars with parts falling off before, and sounded like a tin can when closing the door, but they are the most reliable.

To tell the truth I see more foreign cars abandoned on the side of the road and being hauled on rollbacks now than I do American brands...
Really if Dodge made a Challenger Convertible and there was no Camaro, I would choose it over a mustang any day... Has nothing to do with reliability, I just like the Challenger better.
