GM can't win, no matter what they bring out someone will whine that it isn't enough. If the SS had 550hp and magride suspension someone would want a supercharged 700HP engine. Others would want less gadgets inside...a lot people on here act like little babies because they didn't get what they wanted...
Not really. I wouldn't call virtually everyone in the thread a "little baby." It's a Camaro site but nobody has to worship at the altar of GM. People LOVED the Camaro and th C7 Vette, and the Camaro was a grand slam for GM and the Vette will be too. I think the 4 main criticisms--no manual, $40K+ MSRP, bland-ish styling, and underwhleming specs--are all legit given GM's hype. There are things that work, like the interior and the LS3, and things that don't. Nobody was asking for a four door ZL1 for $30K. But I think we were hoping for a good looking car that performed like a Camaro for Camaro-type money.

Personally I think this will be a one-and-done "since you asked for it..." offering. The whole limited-production/special order thing makes me think GM was hedging its bets big time. I'd bet Chevy is working on something on the Zeta platform for 2015 or so. I'm glad GM listened to the people asking for an updated G8, especially the Camaro guys that now have a family like me, this isn't what I was hoping for. And for $40-45K I need to LOVE the car, not just say it's "fine." Just my opinion though.
