GM can't win, no matter what they bring out someone will whine that it isn't enough. If the SS had 550hp and magride suspension someone would want a supercharged 700HP engine. Others would want less gadgets inside...a lot people on here act like little babies because they didn't get what they wanted...
It's GM's fault. they hyped this thing up. It has 5 major probalems going for it. 1. the G8: this is basically the same car yould buy from a Pontiac Dealership 4 years ago. The thing should have at least had a power bump. 2: price. There is no way this thing is going to be cheaper than the low 40k range. The same basic car sold for 40k 4 years ago and the exchange rate between here and Austrailia has only gotten worse, not to mention the vastly improved interior is NOT going to drop the price any. 3. the Dodge Charger: You can get a considerably more powerful and quicker entry with much more aggressive looks for roughly the same price from the SRT8, not to meant the R/T for around 30k which will perform nearly as well, and possible as well once it gets the 8 speed auto later this year. 4: style, the Gen 5 Camaro and C7 Vette have set the styling bar pretty high for anything GM is wanting to sell as a halo and perfroamnce car, and franlky, the SS doesn't cut it. 5: the name, simply calling it the SS writes checks the final result just cannot cash..... It is not a bad car and I like it, but it hardlly lives up to the hyp put out there by GM. It is nice, but hardly a "4 door corvette".
