see post above. There is a bias toward American sarcasm, not a bias against American cars. The Alabama episode mentioned above is proof of this: Clarkson loves making fun of Americans; since it is a car show, therefore cars are the primary subject of his sarcasm.
Americans like you don't understand sarcasm, that's what makes you attractive targets to someone who does.
