Decorated War Veteran LTR
Just wanted to share with everyone about my Father in Law W. S.Weeks (83) who was Laid To Rest with Full Military honors from the Air Force Honor Guard,and given escort by the Patriot Guard riders to Houston National Cemetery on 2-5-13.
W.S. Weeks was 14 yrs. Old in 1943 when first served in WWll.He also served in the Korean War,and 2 tours of Duty in the Vietnam War. He served his first 5 years of duty in the Army, then transferred to the Air Force until his retirement as Cheif Master Seargent after 30 years of service. In that time of service, he was awarded 22 Ribbons and Medals,some of which include The Silver Star,Bronze Star with Valor,Korean Campaign Medal,Vietnamese Honor Medal by the Vietnamese Govt.,and also The Purple Heart.
Of his other accomplishments, he was a Licensed Real Estate Agent,Licensed Insurance Agent, Maintenance Supervisor at NASA and Catapillar. He owned an Auto Repair and Restoration business. Was a member of the Masonic Lodge; 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason,Member of the Chapter,Council and Commander of the Shrine;Colonel of the Legion of Honor in W.F. TX. He held a Bachelors Degree from Wayland University,also attended the University of Omaha and the University of Maryland where he was put on the Deans list. He loved the outdoors and was a true animal lover. He also enjoyed Fishing,Hunting and Golf. He will be sadly missed.
