Holy hell that was something.
A friend of mine had an equally bad run in a '96 Camaro SS. The synchos were absolutely shot in the transmission and watching him go down the track would make you cringe. Instead of stalling the car at the light though, he broke a c-clip in the rear end. We had to push him off the line and wait for a tow truck. Best part....we were at Import Face-Off. Hard to live that one down.
Especially when the Honda guys were changing broken CV shafts in the staging lanes like they were headlight bulbs...
