The Pontiac G8 'ute was initially planned to come here. But the economic melt down, poor GTO/G8 sales, and possibly the fact that insiders knew that Pontiac may be going away meant there was no business case for the investment to go through all the federal certifications.
One thought though, they made a case for the SSR, and that certainly was a low-volume specialized vehicle.
