Yep. I've shot sporting clays before and found that I really enjoy it, plus I was looking for a good HD firearm because my neighborhood isn't really the best around (I've been living there two months and have been hit up for drug money three times now). Finally settled on this one (was going back and forth on the Glock 26 though. May still get one.)

Plus, my dad has a very similar one (mines a 20 inch barrel, 8 shot mag - his is 28 inch barrel, 6 shot mag) and I thought it would be fun for us to be able to shoot clays or go hunting together. I can get a 28 inch replacement barrel for less than 100 bucks.

Its a maverick 88 security, by the way. Pretty much the same weapon as the mossberg 500, but with a slightly less sturdy bolt assembly (it seems to be a non-issue though as the maverick bolt doesn't have a track record for failure. And they are interchangeable if I decide I want an upgrade) and a trigger-guard safety instead of a tang safety. And although a lot of people like the tang safety better, I prefer the trigger-gaurd style. A bit slower to disengauge, but safer in my opinion.
