First Post, traded 12' 5.0 6M for a 12' L99 SS...

I traded my Black 2012 Brembo 3.73 Mustang GT with ford racing tune and Roush axleback for a 2012 Ashen grey L99 SS Camaro.
I also owned a 2011 auto 5.0 prior to the 12' 5.0 which bored me to tears.
I test drove a 2010 and 2013 manual SS, an auto SS Camaro, and an auto 135i bimmer.

Stock with 3.31's was a joke my rav 4 V6 felt stronger(even though wasn't of course)! I then added 3.73's and the Ford Racing tune which helped overall but wheel hop and spin became a serious issue. 1st became useless, second was pretty impressive but still spinning, even 3rd would spin at times.

Whats weird is the manual LS3 SS didn't impress me either. Punchier down low but flattish feeling acceleration overall going through the gears like the 3.31 stang. The shifter was in weird spot, too unergonomic (no offense to the LS3 guys).
The 12' SS updated interior was nice too compared to the 10-11. More standard equipment, remote start, responsive paddle shifters more comfortable ride and seats than the stang were a plus too.

I will miss some aspects of the 5.0 from time to time but here are some things i won't miss:
3.73 gear whine
pinging from the ford racing tune
4x4 like gap in the rear wheel well
ugly retro guages
big steering wheel

The auto 5.0 was a bore even with the FRPP tune it wouldn't even chirp second gear. It was fast but it felt slow when you put your foot into it.

I've had many mustangs over the years and the last Camaro I had was an 87 TPI IROC 5 speed with 4.10's. Overall I've always liked
GM stuff more when behind the wheel and looks wise.
If I didn't need back seats for the kids I'd have a slightly used Z06 in my driveway for sure.

Sorry for such a long post.
