Ford has actually had 3 issues with engine fires with the Eco-Boost 4 cyl. Finding the cause of an intermittent problem that burns up all traces of the problem is extremly hard. Imagine having someone tell you to fix the light that goes out once in awhile in a warehouse, without telling you which light it is. Every carmaker has problems, how they own up to the problems tells their character.
