Very good points in your post, but my question is about engines that weight the same, and make the same power. therefore, identical power to weight. F1 engines are extremely finely tuned, and make as much power as a Nascar engine with half the displacement. They weigh 1/2 as much but they last half as long. But in nascar the engine is still naturally aspirated, pushrod powered, and they still use carbs but using technology that is pracitically ancient in terms of motorsports, they still produce ~800 hp (thats where F1 is at now too I believe) and can hold a redline for at least half an hour, do a pitstop, then do it again, and again, and again. I don't think an F1 engine could do that. A nascar engine can't rev to 19000 rpm either.
