Keep in mind that GM had to HEAVILY incentivize the G8 to sell them. I know people who bought brand new GT's for very low 20's!

This time around I think the car is on the right showroom floor. Chevy Dealers have been selling the RWD Vette continuously. That doesn't guarantee they know performance vehicles and clients, but they at least have some experience. Add to that a rabid base of Camaro owners wandering through Chevy showrooms and compare that to Pontiac back on 08. The G8 was almost a secret vehicle that was sold only to those insiders that knew about it. With the SS on NASCAR tracks, the pub run up and the BowTie behind it the SS will sell.
That doesn't ease the disappointment of those that wanted an SS at a much lower price point.
