I"m not saying they should be the best every year.

What I am saying is that Stoops and the polls have people giving them way too much credit year in and year out.

I watch the games and notice trends.

If you need 2 yards in a big game, OU will get you 3. If you need 4 yards in a big game, OU will get you 3.

OU rarely proves that they are worthy of a top 10 ranking over the past 7 years or so.

True top 10 teams will lose games. Even to teams they shouldn't lose to. But TRUE top 10 teams don't get dominated in areas on the field.

When OU loses a battle from unit to unit it's not just losing, it's getting dominated. Wether it's on the offensive line, or defensive back field or even the D line. (I've seen all of the above)

And, fine. That's what happens. You can't be top 10 caliber every year. But OU get's that ranking all the time. Which would make me think that they are that good. And then I watch a game like the Baylor game last year. Sure, RG3 is a talented guy but we couldn't keep him off the field with sustained drives because we couldn't run the ball. AGAINST BAYLOR. RG3 didn't play defense. Sure they had 150 yards rushing (as did Baylor) but when they needed the small yards on short yardage they couldn't get it. And Blake bell had to run 4 TDs because OU can't run between the tackles. And I think how the hell OU is supposed to be a top ranked team? They seem to play down to the level of teams more than any other team I watch.

Such is the nature of college football. I tend to want to watch someone 'Win it all'. I don't care much for winning a local conference, league, or division. I want to watch a team win all they can possibly win. Finish on top of everyone. (Which is why the NFL is better to me) NO points for second place.

I guess I'm tired of watching OU be the team that finishes lower than where they start more than any other team out there.

EDIT: I"d love to see a poll of teams that finish lower and higher than they start in the rankings each year.
