Win-win. Size isn't everything. The 3.0L and 3.6L DI engines are pretty comparable and competitive with equivalent engines in BMW and Mercedes models. Where's the problem? And what the hell is wrong with the Aveo's power? Its an econobox. No one buys them for the performance. It too is competitive on power with its competitors, and no one cares about performance in that class anyway. Now that's not to say the Aveo isn't crappy - it is, and the Fit destroys it and the Fiesta soon will. Still, the power isn't the thing to be pissed about.
I was just joking about the Aveo, I could care less. I have driven the SRX with the 3.6L non-DI motor and it is a big vehicle. It does need that much displacement for me to consider it, and I don't understand why the $23k Camaro has the 3.6L DI motor standard and these two significantly upscale heavier vehicles get the 3.0L motor. The SRX used to be a reasonable tow vehicle and to put this small motor in it feels like a mistake based on its weight. This motor will have to work very hard to move this car. I'm mad about the CTS because I thought the 3.6L DI motor would be standard now that the base camaro gets it, and at this level I think it should be standard.

Oh and a front wheel drive SRX? That deserves another madface
