First of all, I have no idea what "jogging" is. There is running, and there is walking. That's it.
Knee damage from running is due to A. Improper form and/or B. Not running on an appropriate schedule. Like any exercise, you have to appropriately ramp-up your speed and mileage as your body adjusts to the utilization. Don't say "never do this" just cuz you don't know how to do it properly.
