Talking Gears

Hello everyone, just wanted to give my .02 cents on rear differential gears!
I have a 1996 chevy 1500 sport side that I bought brand new that I have done many bolt ons to! A couple years ago,I was thinking about putting some Edelbrock E-Tec heads on my Vortec 350! I called Summit Racing and talked to a tech support fellow to ask him about the heads. He told me a little about them and said for the H.P I was going to get it was a lot of money.(1200) He suggested that I change my rear gears. I was running a 3.42, he suggested maybe a 3.73 and it would perform as good as the heads and cheaper! I took the advice of the Guru at Summit, and what a big difference it made on my trucks performance! I went with Richmond gears and Eaton Posi ! (no more single wheel peel) some of the other mods I have on this truck are 1.6 roller rockers, Gibson coated shorty headers, magna flow cats, dynatech 2 1/2 true duals with x pipe, heavy duty big 4 core radiator, Mag Hytec differential cover, Dual Electric cooling Fans, MSD coil, Billett Distributor, Taylor Wires, Upgraded Injectors, Andy Granetteli mass flow sensor, K&N air Filter, Engine and Tranny tuned by Nelson Performance, BBK 80 MM throttle body(same as 454) With over 261,000 miles, this is still one Very Strong running truck! Gears for my Camaro in the future!!!
