Honestly, it is REALLY pink. What did the paint can look like? I've looked at engine paints, and usually the lid is the color (or close to it) of the paint. If it's very different, I would ask for a refund, and find another color - that is, if you don't like it, which it sounds like you don't.

There's one called Maroon that might be closer to what you're looking for...
Maybe you could leave it pinks, and add darker burgundy flames... That would tie it all together, give you a little flash!
