A little background info:
My Dad raced offshore boats in Miami when I was young, so I was an instant motor-head. He raced small block Chevy engines in his boat, I rebuilt my first carb at 4yrs old and small block engine around 10 yrs old.
I was 16 in 1978 and spent most weekend evenings drooling over rows and rows of Pontiac Trans Am's at Jim Moran's Pontiac store in S. Florida. I bought one in 1981 with one-owner low miles. Opened up the exhaust and the shaker hood scoop. Loved that car!
I traded it in 1984 for new, ordered with every option Camaro Z28. Loved that car too, but they had more quality issues than I care to recall. Then I got a job at the Chevy dealer so I could work on my own Camaro under warranty.
Great service manager had me enroll in the GM ASEP college degree program, received A.S. of Automotive Technology degree.
Traded troublesome 84 Camaro for 87 Toyota Supra Turbo, and never looked back.
Sold new and used cars for several years, and was service manager as well to complete my automotive experience.
Now, finally, it's time to come back home. The only question is can I hold off the Pontiac G8 GT sitting at the dealership right now. I'm going to try, because it just doesn't excite me like Camaro5!
