the car will run 175 at the top of 4th, they are crossing the line at 148mph in 4th.

you are crossing the beams at about 5900-6000 rpm when the thing will rev to 7k.

Yes a gear will help. A gear and suspension and the car would really move.

A 3.73 gear would put you at around 6,600 rpm crossing the line in the 4th gear at 148mph. A 4.10 would mean to reach 148 in 4th gear you would have to turn 7,200 rpm.
