I actually went looking for some reasons instead of speculating. Didn't really find any reasons, mostly just pointing out the rapid increase in MSRP.

Sales volume hasn't fallen off all that much since 2008, so it might very well be market pricing, but sales aren't as strong as they were in '08 and '09. But strong initial sales is fairly normal for most low-volume performance cars.
