I know it's the normal way to do things. However, the NFL looked at this, and didn't and will not be penalizing anyone. And, if you read the article...a college team DID get a turnover because the snap was fumbled, and the one of the 3 people diving in recovereed.
Could that happen in the NFL? Sure.
I'm not saying I agree with what TB did, however I'm also saying that it's not anything inherently against the rules NOR bad to attempt a turnover in this situation.
