While I do not agree with everything he says in his text, I agree with some points.
GM in fact DID built crappy cars in the 90's which apparently didn't please customers. They came close to bankruptcy in the 90's already (I'm actually reading a book about Camaro right now where it says that the 4th gen almost didn't get built because of struggling GM finances etc). Then they found "the holy grail" in trucks and SUV's in the late 90's.
then all of a sudden, in the mid/late 2000's they realized, ooops... maybe we should start building good cars again, here's a Malibu and a CTS! unfortunately too late because the damage was already done.
