There is a significant difference in first starting a trip and accidentally hitting the wrong pedal, than to be driving down the highway and hitting the wrong pedal for 25 MILES.
To call the police, try changing gears, and if you notice the dispatcher stated "he's tried the brakes".
So you believe as he was cruising down the highway, dude hits the wrong pedal. Car starts screaming down the highway. He panics...cant get it to stop for 25 MILES, calls the police, hits an emergency stop lane and never once thought....maybe to stop my car I should stop ACCIDENTALLY hitting my gas.
