My team and I are thrust in the role of training people on how to use some of the software we support; there is not a training department for this stuff and their managers don't know (or care); I easily spend 20% of my time training people on the front end or I get to fix the propblems they create on the back end.

What really grates on me is when some pompous ^&%$ actually thinks and expects me to do his job. Fortunately for all involved, this happens very infrequently and virutally every time, it was a man .

I'm just crabby. This promises to be the support and on-call week from hell and won't be over til next Tuesday . Rant over.

On a postive note, my RX Catch Can and Breather (color matched, of course ) arrived today. After on-call concludes next week, I'm taking my car in to have it and my JBA Shorties installed. Wooooohoooooo

Today I had to endure the scrutiny of three managers reviewing a passed off file. Seems they were OK with someone passing it off to me, but not OK with my thinking on how I handled it. I used to fire back with guns blazing, but not anymore. Being outnumbered 3 to 1, I would have lost that battle.

I've learned to never back down from what I believe is right and, ultimately, agree to disagree with them.

I suppose they will learn to leave me alone sooner or later.
