We pay our bills seperate. Now, say I make 2,400 a month. that's $15k I could save a year. Plus hers! take a little out for vacations every year. If we were to save for 2 years and spend an extra $10k combined. Thats still 40k in 2 years!! It could happen if you don't live way above your needs. I think alot of people need a lesson in that now a days anyways. Taking out loans for things they will never be able to afford, and banks approving it. While some people can't get a simple loan and make it in a month because noone was paying theirs back in the first place!!!

That's a pretty broad stroke your using. Does your 1.2k in bills include mortgage, insurance, property tax, medical expenses, food, gas and condoms (because NOTHING throws off a budget faster than kids). Also what about money you put aside for investments or retirement? I think once you go through your budget with a fine point pen you'll realize just how much you didn't consider when you figured out how much you could save.
When your done with that, go look in the GTR forum and see how many hoops you'll need to jump through in order to keep your warranty from Nissan. If you think you'll save some money by doing maintenance yourself, forget about it. So you'll also need to budget the cost of ownership.
