Why does someone have to be earning at least twice as much as their car's worth to "afford" that car?

My Camaro's sticker price was right around $42k, and after TT&L was somewhere around $45k and I don't make $90k a year. In fact, at the time that I purchased the car, I was making under $60k a year.

It all depends on how you finance, how much you put down, and what you can afford monthly.

So, yeah, I imagine someone that makes $200k could pretty easily afford a GT-R. In fact, I bet someone making as "little" as $130k a year could afford a GT-R.
