I shudder to think of the lack of performance for the two four cylinder options when the v6 will be so slow. The real trick will be to find buyers who both are willing to pay extra for all of the creature comforts that this car provides and are willing to sacrifice performance. I realize that pricing has not been announced, but this thing better be priced competitively. Otherwise, GM will not be selling so many.

Also, to clear up a few factual errors with your post. The 2014 v6 Impala is slower than the SS models from the early 2000s. In addition, I hope me being in my mid 20s doesn't make me a so-called "old timer".
Just to put it into perspective the last Impala SS with a V8 had 303HP and did 0-60 in 6.4 seconds. Yeah it's faster by 0.4 of a second. Did you know the 67 Impala SS 427 was only rated at 385 gross HP and was clocked at 8.3 seconds 0-60. Probably what the 4 cylinder 2014 Impala will do. And got 10 mpg of premimum gas.
