Lol. I must have swapped for the manifold. Then again, at the time I was paying 600 buckls a year in insurance and had no car payments. Manifold itself was 300 bucks new. This one's painted and clean so it must have been lightly used. Somebody had a valley pan splash guards on it too, very clean underneath

I take it that you've never done any car-club deals before. It goes like this:

"Hey, glad you were in the shop when I drove by. I couldn't find that headlight bezel you wanted."

"Damn. Mine's wiped out. The left side is like hen's teeth for a '70. I was hoping you had one"

"Nope sorry. I did remember you wanted to swap to a t-stat setup on your carb and manifold though"

"Yeah but I'm not giving them 50 bucks plus shipping for the thermocoil"

"I know. But I went with a single plane for my prostreet GS. Want the dual plane? It has the T-stat setup"

"I dunno. I'll have to go through my old Q jet to do it. No vacuum out of the front side choke"

"Well I brought the manifold with me...."

"OK how much?"

"How about you swap me your 700 cfm Carter? It'll work on my 340"

"Done. Shove the manifold under the bench willya? I need to set my lifter preload so I can drive to work on Monday. The carb is in the box by the heads over there"

"Will do. Thanks"

When you're swapping parts, it's easy to forget
